Greco Mint Collection SS-600P2 SG Style Black 1990

Greco SS-600P2 SG style, black, made in Japan 1990. These Mint Collection Greco guitars enjoy a great reputation; they're brilliantly made instruments. This is a whole lot of fun: it's lightweight but still well balanced, looks super mean and sounds terrific. The pickups are a slightly overwound PAF style, so there's a nicely balanced slightly hot output that is happiest pushing a tube amp to a meaty breakup. The immediate attack and snappy growl is perfect for punk and classic rock rhythm parts; it's addictive to hands and ears. The neck is moderately chunky with perfect frets and a great feel, it's lively and resonant in the hands. The black-on-black finish is classic and very slick; it'll certainly work well on stage. It'd be difficult to find a legit Gibson that sounds and plays as well as this for anything like this price, so hey, here's your ticket to the party.

Model: Greco SS-600P2
Made: 1990, Japan (serial 01316)
Finish: black, 4-ply black guard
Body: mahogany
Neck: mahogany, rosewood board, set-neck, 24.75" scale, 9.5" radius
Weight: 2.670kg
Mods: none
Pickups: Greco 'Screamin'' humbucker x2
Case: none

Cosmetic condition notes: Minor finish wear. Headstock has some minor chips on the end. Neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. There's a couple of surface deep cracks in the finish around the neck joint; nothing as deep as the wood but worth checking the close up pic. The back has a few dimples and scuffs around the body, nothing nasty. Sides have a few marks: light scuffs on both horns, a couple of dimples on the shoulder and near the jack. The front is pretty clean, just some dimples on the top horn and behind the bridge and some play wear on the guard. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. Frets have very little wear, 9/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
