Fender '62 Reissue Precision Bass PB62-55 Vintage White 1986-7

Fender Japan '62 Precision Bass, vintage white, made in Japan 1986/7. This is in remarkable condition, it looks closer to 3 months old than 32 years old... amazing! The hardware is shiny and beautiful, the unadulterated finish has just a couple of minor marks, frets looks great... This has obviously been extremely well cared for in it's three decades. These 80s era P-basses generally feature some pretty special bits of wood, and this is certainly blessed in that regard: the neck is a stunning piece of maple with plenty of curly grain, the rosewood slab fingerboard is dark and streaky, the basswood body is light and extremely resonant. The result is a bass that really feels classy: it's very responsive to a light touch and is an absolute pleasure to play. The classic P-tone is all there: round, warm lows, juicy mids with a nice growl, smooth creamy treble... it's really quite lovely. If you're after a Fujigen made bass minus the normal wear and tear of 30 years of hard work, this sleek reverse-tuxedo P is the Dorian Gray of basses: forever young.

Model: Fender Precision Bass '62 Reissue, PB62-55
Made: Japan, 1986/7, Fujigen plant (serial F015328)
Finish: vintage white (VWH), 3-ply red tort guard
Body: basswood
Neck: maple with rosewood board, dot inlays
Weight: 3.9kg approx
Mods: it's possible the hardware has been replaced, but it appears to be all original (and in superbly clean condition)
Pickup: Fender Japan PB-Vintage split single coil
Case: none

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Neck and headstock pretty clean. The back has one dent near the middle, as well as a couple of minor scratches near the body carve, rear strap pin and bottom edge. The front is very clean, just a couple of minor dimples on the top horn and on the bottom edge near the knobs. Hardware looks amazingly shiny. Overall: very good condition (8.5/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look good, minor wear only; they appear to be recently dressed and polished, 8.5/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
