Charvel Charvette 300 Blood Splatter 1989

Charvette 300, blood splatter, made in Japan 1989. Luke and JT keep telling me off for buying guitars for a laugh, but I'm probably not gonna stop, right? Plus, this one is really good, so that counts for something too. Charvette was the shortlived more basic line by Charvel, made from 1989-91. This one is an early one, so it's made at the Chusin Gakki plant in Japan that made all the Jackson and Charvel stuff at the time, whereas later ones were made on Korea. It's got the body shape and passive SSS pickup configuration of a Strat, but it's got a seriously pointy reverse headstock, super slim shreddable neck with giant frets and a bit more output than the average bluesdad requires. The neck is beautifully executed: it's straight and stable, finished in a super slick light satin, not so skinny it makes your hand hurt and an absolute breeze to play on. The tone on deck is great too: it's a thick, punchy take on the Strat-spank with an enhanced low end and a penchant for a generous dose of gain. The finish: well, if you hate it, that's understandable but you're obviously no fun. Sometimes you just need a guitar covered in blood, right?

Model: Charvel Charvette 300
Made: Japan, Chusin Gakki plant, 1989 approx (serial 012164)

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some minor dimples on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has a couple of light scuffs on and around the cavity cover but no major marks. The sides have no major marks, just some dimples in the elbow area. The front has some very light scuffs near the knobs and in the elbow area, as well as some standard play wear on the horns. Overall: excellent condition (9/10).

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have minor wear only, 9/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
